Since we weren't lucky enough to be able to go to the real Oktoberfest in Germany with Weylan and Josh, we had to settle with Prost's inaugural Oktoberfest. We had such a great time! Prost is always a great place to hang out and is one of our favorite East side bars. For Oktoberfest, they had their usual German beers on tap but also had a tasting of all the local microbreweries Oktoberfest's. They had a variety of "keep the glass" specials, vendors selling German clothing and souvenirs and a variety of food options. Jamie wore her beer maid outfit and only got confused as a waitress a dozen times.

Andrew and Megan Smith
Hello and welcome to our blog. My name is Megan live in Portland, Oregon (the Rose City) where I moved in June 2008 from my hometown of Akron, Ohio (the Rubber City) with my husband Andrew. We followed a new job opportunity for Andrew out here, but making the move out West has been a dream of ours for awhile. We moved into a fabulous downtown apartment and made it home for three years before we purchased a home in Northeast Portland this past summer. 2011 has actually brought quite a bit of change for us. Besides buying a home, we also had to put our beloved 6-year-old golden retriever Chase to sleep unexpectedly on July 4th. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think about him and miss him terribly. Only a week before we put Chase to sleep, we found out that we were expecting our first child. Then, on Christmas Day, Liam David came into our lives 10 weeks earlier than his due date and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin while visiting Andrew's family for the holidays. We are very excited to experience the adventure of parenthood!
A little about me: I got a job as Office Manager for a private dental practice in the Pearl District of the city where I worked until Liam's birth. In my free time, I enjoy working out, participating in many outdoorsy activities (hiking, biking, skiing, camping), watching movies, challenging myself to become a better photographer using my digital SLR, listening to my iPod or NPR, drinking expensive beer in the company of family and friends and burying myself in my scraproom and creating masterpieces. To see some of my work, please visit my scrapbooking blog!
A little about Andrew: Andrew left his job at National City Corporation to take a new opportunity with the Regence Group (Blue Cross Blue Shield) and was promoted earlier this year into a more senior role within his division. In his free time, Andrew enjoys cooking, doing anything outdoorsy (hiking, biking, skiing, camping), watching F1 Racing in surround sound on his big screen TV, reading anything he can get his hands on, traveling anywhere and everywhere and sampling all the great microbrews the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
